As we age, we lose a lot of things! Our skin’s strength and elasticity are two of those things. The older we get the further south things seem to go, including our skin, our breasts, our butts, you know the signs. None of us like all of the little bumps, lumps, wrinkles, spots and droops that we see in the mirror every day. What if I could show you a non-laser tool that would help, tighten and firm all of your saggy spots without needles or surgery? What if the same tool could improve your collagen production? What if that same tool could make stretch marks, scars and other skin irregularities be a lot less noticeable? Would you be interested in hearing about it? If I’ve gotten your attention, read on or call our office at 520 275-4510.

The electric arc produces a short flash when the probe comes close to the skin. This flash causes a micro burn to the epidermal layer (top dead layer) of your skin. The microdamage that was intentionally caused by the flash registers in your brain and the brain sends out a message that it needs to repair that damage. It produces collagen and elastins and makes your skin newer, healthier and more toned and tightened. The treatment “burn” causes a temporary de-hydration of the skin; this results in immediate tissue retraction and lifting. The treatment is topical and is performed without causing bleeding and more importantly without causing any damage to the surrounding tissue.
Side effects vary from treatment to treatment, but the most common ones are:
• Little brown or black dots where the arc touched your skin (they will scab)
• Eyelid tightening usually causes swelling
• Topical redness and warmth may occur
• Skin may be itchy during healing period
• Possible tingling or sunburned feeling
The dots from the arc will usually crust over within 2-3 days and fall off between 5-7 days. Rarely it can take a few days longer. It is important to keep the “open wounds” very clean for the first few days. Once the scabs form, they need to be kept dry and it is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT YOU DON’T PICK AT THEM! Let them fall off, do NOT rub or pull them off. If you do You can cause a scar!
Eyelid procedures can cause topical swelling that usually lasts for a few days. This is NORMAL and is part of the healing process. Do not apply ice as the scabs need to form. The more intense the treatment, the more swelling there will be. We believe that a less intense treatment that is repeated, once healed, is a better way to go than have severe after effects that last a long time.
Topical redness and warmth soon after the procedure is common and should fade within the first day. If you start to get redness outside of the treated area, or the area starts to get mushy, smelly or turns colors, that could be signs of an infection. It needs to be looked at by a professional. Please call us or your doctor if this occurs. Infections are possible if you don’t keep the area clean.
Once the scabs are forming and falling off, your skin will get dry and possibly itchy. DO NOT rub or scratch them off. Aftercare products will have been given to your at your initial consultation.
Here is the MOST IMPORTANT part of your treatment! It is essential that you follow your aftercare sheet and to only use the products that we have given you.
Although infections or any other complications are rare, they can happen if aftercare isn’t properly done. You must keep the area clean. Do not pick off the scabs. After the scabs have formed wear a full spectrum sunscreen every day. A physical sunblock like zinc oxide is the best. Stay out of the sun for 2-3 months to prevent hyper-pigmentation. Avoid extreme heat or cold for 4 weeks. Do not use an exfoliator or peel of any kind for 4 weeks. Do not use a swimming pool or bathtub until the scabs have fallen off. Do not wear any kind of makeup, (even mineral make up) until the scabs have fallen off. Putting products that are not sterile on the wounds before they are healed can cause infection and hypo/hyper-pigmentation. If you have had body work done, avoid tight fitting clothes that can rub on the treated area. DO NOT TAN.
In order for the client to qualify to undergo the aesthetic treatments using electrical arcing the following prerequisites must be met first:
This is a good question and needs to be addressed. At Alternatives in Health Care, we want to make sure that you are happy with your treatment and your results, so it is important that you have reasonable expectations. If you want very rapid, surgery like results, you should have surgery. But, if going under the knife is Not the option for you then this may just be the ticket for you!
You will see noticeable skin tightening before you leave the building. These results will loosen a little after the skin re-hydrates itself. The long term effects happen over the next few months as collagen grows. The effects of the plasma fibroblast treatment may last for a few years, unfortunately, it is NOT a magic wand that stops the aging process. (No such wand exists!) What it does do is make a visible improvement every time you have a treatment. You can have areas re-treated after 6-8 weeks has gone by. Once the treated area has completely healed, you can then go for a greater improvement!
Stretch marks will shrink and fade, scars will close up and become smaller and less noticeable, eyelids will lift, under eye bags will shrink and tone, skin tone will improve and tighten, jowls and mid face wrinkles will tighten as well. Turkey necks and crepey skin will be more toned and more youthful looking. Forehead wrinkles and lines between your eyes can decrease in depth, lines around the mouth can improve greatly. You can tighten the area around your belly button and tone the flabby skin on your belly, legs and inner arms too!
Of course, lifestyles have a lot to do with how well or how poorly you age. Eating clean, exercising, avoiding to much sun exposure, cleansing the toxins out of the body and staying hydrated are all ways to keep your new look more youthful! Don’t forget to get enough sleep and try to de-stress every chance that you get.
