Stretch Marks Removal Tucson

Rapid growth causes these; stretch marks! This sudden or rapid growth suddenly stretches the skin, and in turn, pulls on your collagen bundles that reside in the dermis. When this happens those bundles tear away from each other, and when the skin returns to its normal state it can appear wrinkly and stretched because it’s not supported by the same collagen structure that is deeper in your skin. Whether you got them during puberty, pregnancy or you rapidly put on a bunch of weight, if your skin genetically has less elastins, you will probably get stretch marks to some degree.

Stretch marks aren’t just a “woman thing.” Many men have them too, for the same reasons. Many people that are body builders or are serious athletes that grew their muscles very quickly have them also. No matter how you got them, most people don’t like them.

I guess that I really don’t have to tell you the most common places that people get them, (because if you are reading this page, you probably have some of your own.)

But, the belly, butt, thighs, breasts  and arms are the most common, although they can form anywhere that has grown quickly.

This next section is a re-print from healthline.com. I think that it is good info so I will pass it on as it was written.

Red vs. white stretch marks

Stretch marks are colored lines or streaks that appear on your skin from weight gain or growth. They’re essentially tears on the skin, but aren’t an indication of a health issue.

Stretch marks often begin as red or purple marks, and slowly fade to white or silver over time. The difference in color distinguishes how old the marks are. Though they may never disappear completely, treatment can lighten the color of your marks and shrink them. In other cases, stretch marks fade away on their own.

Newer, red-tinged stretch marks (striae rubra) are easier to treat. They begin red because blood vessels are present under the skin. The presence of functioning blood vessels allows red stretch marks to be more responsive to treatment.

White stretch marks (striae alba) are older and more difficult to treat. Over time, your blood vessels will narrow, making it hard to stimulate collagen production. Treatment results may not be as drastic compared to those of red stretch marks, but there are options available to help them fade more naturally and at a faster pace.

If you have looked into stretch mark removal before, you probably would have seen stretch mark removal creams, peels or some other form of exfoliation, lasers, skin rolling or skin needling as some of the remedies. Surgery is probably NOT the best way to get rid of them. What needs to happen to have them “fill in” and make them less noticeable is; collagen has to be stimulated to grow in the area that has the broken collagen bundles. The fibroblast plasma arc is another way to stimulate collagen growth. The plasma arc works on the stretch mark and around the surrounding area.

What’s the process?

The electric arc produces a short flash when the probe comes close to the skin. This flash causes a micro- burn to the epidermal layer (top dead layer) of your skin. The micro-damage that was intentionally caused by the flash registers in your brain and the brain sends out a message that it needs to repair that damage. It produces collagen and elastins and makes your skin newer, healthier and more toned and tightened. The treatment “burn” causes a temporary de-hydration of the skin; this results in immediate tissue retraction and lifting. The treatment is topical and is performed without causing bleeding and more importantly without causing any damage to the surrounding tissue.

Once the area starts to heal, collagen and elastins start to grow and fill in the stretched out area. Collagen takes 4-6 months to grow and elastins take about 8-12 weeks, so the results will take a little while to notice after the temporary de-hydration tightness goes away, but the results will improve over the next few months.

So, if you would like to have skin that is smoother and have stretch marks that are way less noticeable give us a call at 520 275-4510.
